LDPE Price Trend

LDPE is an abbreviation for low-density polyethylene, a thermoplastic polymer derived from the monomer ethylene. It is polyethylene with a density ranging from 0.910 to 0.940 g/cm3. It is a moisture and chemical-resistant material that is flexible, strong, and lightweight.

It has a waxy, velvety surface and is translucent to opaque. It is available in a variety of colours, including natural, white, and black. The melting point of LDPE ranges from 105 to 115 °C, depending on the degree of branching in the polymer chain.

Industrial Uses Impacting LDPE Price Trend:Price Trend Image

LDPE is frequently utilised in packaging applications. It is commonly used for food, consumer goods, and industrial product packaging films, bags, and wraps.

It’s used to make agricultural films for greenhouses, mulching, and crop protection. The films are used to keep greenhouse temperatures and humidity stable, as well as to protect crops from pests and weather.

During building and remodeling, it is utilised as a protective film for carpets, floors, and windows. It is also utilised on walls and roofs as a vapour barrier. It is also utilised to make a variety of medical items such as tubing, syringes, and medical bags.

Its high dielectric strength and low water absorption make it ideal for use as an electrical insulation material in wire and cable applications.

Additionally, owing to its flexibility and resilience, it is used to make toys and recreational products including balls, frisbees, and pool floats.
